The Union Electric Steel (UES) Acquistions

1999

Davy Roll

The Davy Roll Company, which had been supplying cast rolls products for more than 150 years, was acquired by UES 1999. In 2011, the name was changed to Union Electric Steel UK Limited (UES UK). Today, UES UK continues the legacy of producing high-quality cast rolls for hot and cold strip mills, medium-to-heavy section mills, and plate mills.

2015

Alloys Unlimited and Processing, LLC

In 2015, UES purchased Alloys Unlimited and Processing, LLC, a leader in the supply of specialty tool, alloy, and carbon steel round bar. Located in Austintown, Ohio, Alloys Unlimited also provides specialty services, including precision saw cutting, lathe capabilities, CNC machining, rough turning, boring, heat treating, trepanning, and production cutting to customers locally and nationwide.

2016

Åkers AB and certain of its affiliates

The forged and cast roll businesses of Union Electric Steel Corporation and Åkers Group officially began conducting business under the brand name “Union Electric Åkers” on March 3, 2016. As the world’s largest non-government owned roll business, Union Electric Åkers is able to offer a complete product line to customers in every global region.
